Afghan people have been gone through incidents as Boston’s for over thirty years now, they do understand the feelings of the victims and their families more than anybody could do in USA right now.

Yes, our prayers are with the Boston victims’ families, but also with families of the murdered civilians in Palestine, Burma, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and Syria… and the places I forgot to mention here… may they ALL rest in peace.

According to Ibn Sina, a human being should acquire as much knowledge as possible. For it is by knowledge and knowledge alone that human happiness can be achieved. Two forms of knowledge are required for this: practical knowledge and theoretical knowledge. The former is knowledge of what must be done for the perfection of society, the family and the individual. Practical knowledge prepares the way for theoretical knowledge by means of which the metaphysical perfection of the individual is completed. The metaphysical perfection of the individual is completed by knowledge of the essences, natures, realities or quiddities of things, which are the eternal elements of this universe. How one can grasp these essences will become clear later on. Meanwhile, it must be said that knowledge of essences serves to perfect an individual by making him mirror the eternal aspect of the universe, and hence achieve eternity for himself- eternity being identified with happiness.

When you feel war as a child
Hear bombs strikes as a child
See death passing you by as a child
See corpses on street you played the day before
Then being subject to white racism,
I was called ‘man painted in black’ everyday at school
And I was a little girl
Once, I remember this girl suffocated me in the bus
because she did not like my olive skin
Then again disrespected
Called a terrorist
Asked whether Osama was my uncle
And this Osama is not even from my country of origin,
Then as a knowledge seeking teenager,
I attended aeronautic lessons,
I was asked whether I was taking this class for ‘terrorism reasons’,
A teached asked me this,
I was 14, I answered a simply ‘no’
He asked me this because my family name is Ahmad
And my dark hair, thick eyebrows and olive skin matched his perfect terrorist look,
But despite all these,
I can proudly say I never for even a second was racist nor ever had hatred against those people. Why?
Because my muslim parents always taught me that ‘we all humans’,
And this was tattoed in my heart
Therefore my soul is racism free
And being subject to those physical and mental assaults,
Makes me love each second I have in this life
But also pushes to always stand by the oppressed people of this world
